Kim Kardashian's break from public life will cost her $1m a month but could make her even richer in future, experts say
Kim Kardashian has retreated from the public eye in the wake of the terrifying $11million heist at her rented Paris apartment.
Filming on her show has been suspended and she's not updated social media once, amid talk that her addiction to flaunting her wealth on sites such as Instagram and Snapchat made her a target.
But for someone whose business rests on them being constantly in the spotlight, the decision is set to cost her.
Experts have pegged the loss at an almost unbelievable $1million a month.
Speaking to People magazine, celebrity financial adviser Samuel Rad explained that every single social media post was worth around $20,000 to Kim's brand - and that's before the cost of sponsored posts.
But, he explained, if handled correctly, Kim could have a big pay date in the not so distant future.
'I think what’s going to happen is the first post she’s going to put up... it’s going to get so many more followers and hits,' he explained.
'I think it could be a really big moneymaker for her brand.'
Despite the terror, the heist - in which a robed Kim was pulled from her bed in the early hours of the morning and bound and gagged - has renewed interest in the mother-of-two.
Still, for now at least, Kim is shunning the spotlight she has worked so hard to acquire.
She and husband Kanye West are also shelling out a huge amount for increased security.
When the pair reunited in New York early on Monday morning, their New York apartment was guarded by a swarm of up to 30 guards.
These could be paid up to $150 an hour each, as Aaron Jackson, the President of Finest Execution Protection, told E! News.
'Kim is a very, very public figure,' he explained. 'Also, there's now that added threat level. I would say she'd be charged around $150 an hour per security guard.'
But for now at least, Kim is prioritizing her family's safety, over any money-making plans.
As Kim recovers, the E! Network has shut down production of her family reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
A spokesperson for the network told Variety that: 'Kim's well-being is our core focus right now'. They added that: 'no decision has been made as to when production will resume.'
It took this to humble this family?!?! Sad but necessary. Thankful (even if I don't like them) no one was physically harmed. Hopefully this can be a lesson to stop flaunting.
ReplyDeleteI really hope she get the help she need to get over this so traumatic experience. I can't imagine going through something like that. She could've been killed. Is gonna take her a long time to feel safe again if ever. I love her!
ReplyDeleteI truly feel bad for her, her life will never be the same. She is probably scared to be alone, to go out in public, scared for her kids and her family. Probably doesn't know who she can trust..I can't imagine living in fear like that.
ReplyDeleteThis breaks my heart that this happened to her. I love watching love, I believe they have a great family and I love how close they all are. However, if I were in her shoes I would do the same thing.. family and safety is #1!
ReplyDeleteI feel sorry for Kim for having to go through that tramatic event. She is a human being. Now she can focus more on her children and hopefully she can move on.
ReplyDeleteI am honestly thankful she wasn't physically injured during the robbery but I'm sure it was frightening. She thought she was going to die. That's a game changer.
ReplyDeleteI'm just glad that the children were not there. I can only imagine what would've happened if they were in the hotel room as this was playing out.
ReplyDeleteWow, after a devastating hurricane in Florida, A thousand people dead in Haiti, countless women groped by Donald Trump, now this? This just puts me over the edge
