President Barack Obama declared a state of emergency in Florida as Hurricane Matthew strengthened and headed for the U.S. Southeast, the White House said on Thursday.
The action authorizes the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to coordinate disaster relief efforts necessitated by the storm, a Category 4 hurricane packing winds of 140 mph.

Praying for anyone and everyone that may be impacted by this storm.
ReplyDeleteWow that is a monster
ReplyDeleteFlorida we will have you in our thoughts and prayers even though we have recession in Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteObama is doing right for the residents in Florida. Kudos to the Governor as well for already having national guard activated & more on stand by. Now hopefully people in mandatory evac zones leave as told & do not put first responders lives at risk for their stupidity.
ReplyDeleteUhmmmmm... only a state governor can declare a state if emergency for their state, which was done yesterday if I believe right.
ReplyDeleteFlorida Gov. Scott has been on TV for several days telling people to prepare for the worst and has been clear about the possible catastrophic effects. He is on TV now saying to get out now which he's been saying for days to residents in the path of the storm. After many decades in Florida (and being in several hurricanes) this is the first time a Governor has spoken so forcefully! Over and over he said this storm will kill you, but a couple of days ago some people were complaining he was spreading fear...... and now it is coming to pass.
ReplyDeletePraying for all of those beautiful people on the East Coast/Florida!! Heavenly Father please protect these people from harms way! Praying, Praying!!
